Consultation

During the last two years, developers Lomond Banks has put great emphasis on consulting and engaging with the local community and key stakeholders, and the feedback received has helped shape and evolve our proposals along the way.

Flamingo Land, the team behind Lomond Banks,  scheduled a series of online and face-to-face consultation events and created an online portal for people to view the plans and give their feedback.

These events along with the website, newsletters, videos and our very own dedicated community liaison lead, who has met with many local organisations, groups and business, were all  designed to provide  a number of opportunities to those with an interest in the proposals, to engage and help shape our plans.

Feedback received on the application was fundamental in influencing the revised proposals that were  presented to the National Park Authority.

The proposals have garnered a lot of support from local groups, individuals and key stakeholders including Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Loch Lomond, Maid of the Loch, Helensburgh and District Access Trust (HADAT), and local parish minister Ian Miller who has served the local community for more than 30 years, to name but a few.

Key focus areas that were identified during this initial period were the pierhead area, integration with the community of Balloch, an emphasis on fair work, education and training as well as traffic and transport. All of these elements combined, helped form our Lomond Promise – a unilateral agreement which sets our our commitment in these key areas to the local community and beyond should planning progress.

If successful, Lomond Banks will not only revitalise an area which holds such national importance but provide numerous opportunities and investment so that the economic benefit for Scottish tourism and the local area will be felt and enjoyed for years to come.
